Absent Ambition launch
Absent Ambition – to be released this weekend – is a major new report from the CSJ, providing a new perspective on how to address the school absence crisis with a renewed focus on home as well as school.
Across Britain, hundreds of thousands of children are slipping through the cracks, with severe absence having trebled since 2017 and continuing to rise. This report looks to understand the root causes of rising absence and what it will take to reverse it.
It will call on Government to support parents, rebuild the link between education and employment, and restore trust between home and school. The ambition is to resolve this crisis and unlock the future for these young people.
