Jane was brought up in Croydon, South London. She went to medical school at St Andrew’s University and Manchester University, qualifying in 1994, and she continued her postgraduate studies to qualify as a GP in 1998. Due to family commitments, she stopped work as a GP after 10 years and has since become increasingly involved in the family foundation, The Oglesby Charitable Trust. She is currently Chair of the Shared Health Foundation CIC, which the OCT set up to tackle health inequalities, and is a founding board member of the Focused Care CIC which funds primary care support for the most vulnerable individuals in the North West.
