Sophie Ladd

Head of Partnerships

The CSJ has always featured in the background of my career and was an organisation I admired, hugely respected and absolutely wanted to end up working for – I was so delighted that in 2025 that dream came true!

I originally worked for four years in Parliament for two MPs, and then for a further two years in a not-for-profit focusing on long-term cultural issues. I have become ever more convinced that helping the most vulnerable in the UK requires thought-through, holistic policy proposals that provide solutions rather than more questions.

I now have the privilege of serving as the CSJ’s Head of Partnerships, where I help share our compelling mission and impact, and seek to inspire others to invest in this vital work—bringing real change to people’s everyday lives.

Outside of work I am married to Peter, and serve as a trustee of several charities.

Something you might not know about me

I have about 10 "caps" playing volleyball for my country - the most exciting time was playing in the UK School Games in 2012 on the Olympic courts!
