Digital Communications Manager
It is a privilege to work at the CSJ and add impact to the illuminating work of its researchers. Too little oxygen in Westminster is afforded to the pathways to poverty and how we can close them, which is why it is so essential to drive their work right under the fingertips of key policymakers.
Prior to joining the CSJ, I spent five years working for MPs in Parliament, including two years as Senior Parliamentary Assistant to the then Trade Envoy to the United States. During that time, I ran digital campaigns in several local and national elections across the country. Most notably, I was the Digital Lead for Dame Priti Patel’s Conservative Party Leadership Campaign, using a variety of strategies to target MPs and key Westminster voices online.
I studied Politics & International Relations at University College London, where I wrote my Dissertation on the Preston Model – a city-wide strategy to procure goods and services locally. It taught me how much Westminster can learn from elsewhere, something our organisation embraces thoroughly through our Alliance of over 750 charities.
Outside of work, I am an avid runner and reader, as well as a loyal supporter of Preston North End – my hometown club (also proudly home to the second biggest bus station in Europe).
Something you might not know about me
As a politics student, I volunteered to be interviewed by Emily Maitlis as she prepared to cover the 2019 General Election night. Little did I know my role was to impersonate Michael Gove in the scenario of a landslide Labour victory! My first ever grilling, and one I will never forget.
