Ben Robinson

Regional Manager (Yorkshire and the Humber)

I first became interested in the work of the CSJ, in my role as a secondary school teacher, working in a special educational needs department. This interest led me to becoming a Senior Researcher in the Education Policy Unit at the CSJ, investigating the attainment gap in England’s primary schools. Which was followed by a role in the Work and Opportunity Policy Unit, researching the opportunities of housing decarbonisation. Throughout my time as a Senior Researcher at the CSJ, I was fortunate to engage with a range of fantastic Alliance organisations which has now drawn me to joining the Foundation team.

I am excited to work with excellent frontline charities across the region, to connect the backstreets of Yorkshire to the corridors of Westminster. Having grown up in North Yorkshire and lived in Leeds for the past five years, I am especially excited that we are opening a Yorkshire office.

Our recent Big Listen Yorkshire event already connected us with a number of outstanding organisations who can share insights into communities that no one else can, and we look forward to growing our Alliance further following the Yorkshire office opening in April 2023.

Something you might not know about me

I’ll spend most weekends either watching or playing (badly) sport, especially cricket and rugby.
