CSJ policy recommendations are rooted in the experience of front line poverty fighting organisations. The CSJ Alliance is a network of grassroots, community-based charities and voluntary organisations from every part of the UK. Our alliance of poverty fighting charities help us to take the voice of those tackling the causes of poverty to Westminster, bringing frontline poverty fighting experience to those making policy.
The CSJ champions the work of its Alliance members at the heart of government, using examples of what is working to tackle poverty. We work closely alongside Alliance members to identify the root causes of disadvantage in our poorest communities and to create strategic, evidence-led policy solutions.
Our Alliance organisations work at the grassroots, with people living in severe poverty, ranging from young offenders and gang members, to children in care, homeless individuals and families, asylum seekers, recovering addicts and those with mental health problems. They seek to tackle the underlying root causes of poverty, rather than simply addressing the symptoms, helping to transform lives.
