David Burrowes MP, the Conservative member of parliament for Enfield Southgate and Shadow Minister for Justice, spent 5 days in September 2008 working with youth mentoring charity Chance UK.
Chance UK is an early intervention mentoring programme for primary school aged children with behavioural difficulties. A mentor meets with a child every week for 2-4 hours setting goals and moving towards meeting them. The behaviour of 89% of children is improved as a result of going through the programme.
David worked from 10am - 5pm in the project with mentor groups, school and home visiting to meet referrals, and to help with the administration of the charity.
