CSJ meets black majority church leaders
Iain Duncan Smith joined David Cameron on Thursday 19 October, in an event designed to include community leaders from black majority churches in policy discussions. The relationship-building 'Discussion Forum', hosted by the Conservative Christian Fellowship, was designed to create opportunity for influential community leaders to raise their concerns and contribute ideas and perspective from their own experience.
Iain Duncan Smith applauded the work of the assembled church pastors, "I admire greatly the contribution that the leaders of the black majority churches are making to strengthen their communities and tackling injustice wherever they see it. Their frontline experience gives us opportunity for a stimulating dialogue."
With a question and answer session, guests of the events said the event was "well overdue and most welcome." Others, that they were inspired and encouraged, "Today was an exclellent opportunity to share thoughts, ideas and concerns."
Many of the CSJ Alliance members are faith-based groups started by leaders from the black majority churches.
